My Story

Quarantined with Covid in 2021. Adrienne started painting at age 53 with no formal training.

In January 2021, Adrienne created her first painting. The following year, she was delighted to be selected as an emerging artist for the prestigious 4 Bridges Art Festival in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Encouraged by the Association of Visual Arts, Adrienne has since continued to paint and exhibit her work in various locations throughout Chattanooga, including Nelly Gift Shop and Gallery, Charlotte's Web, Locals Only, and the Memorial Hospital Foundation.

In addition to her artistic pursuits, Adrienne is also a dedicated volunteer foster for the Humane Educational Society. You never know when she might have a cute little puppy or kitten by her side.

Here is a story about Adrienne from her teacher, Ali Kay.

My First Painting

My First Painting 2021

The source of inspiration for my paintings always lies in my reference images. I make it a habit to regularly capture pictures that represent varying perspectives, contrasting values, or precious moments. I prefer to use Golden fluid acrylics on a gessoed wood panel. My paintings begin with a complimentary wash and are finished with a top coat mixed with medium for transparency. I love adding bright color contrasts to my artwork. Sometimes, when the colors in the wash are vivid enough, I leave them as is. As a painter of just two years, I always challenge myself to learn more by altering my approach.
